Japan Plans To Build Fastest Train In The World

The Central Japan Railway Company has announced that it plans to build the fastest train in the world, between Tokyo and Nagoya, to be completed by 2027, a next-generation maglev built at a cost of 64 billion dollars.

“Maglev,” or magnetically levitated trains travel above ground through an electromagnetic pull and powerful magnets elevate the train above the track, cutting down friction. The only maglev train now in commercial operation is in Shanghai.

The company expects speeds up to 310 miles per hour, shaving travel time between the two cities to 40 minutes from about 95 minutes. (Trains currently in use top out at about 167 miles per hour.) An extension of the high-speed line to Osaka is planned by the end of 2045.

At 6 feet 8 inches, model Amazon Eve is set to take her career to new heights. The Guiness Book of World Records certified “World’s Tallest Model” (who also makes money working as a dominatrix) was at the Playboy Mansion for a party last week where “the bunnies sized me up and treated my body like a stripper pole!”

The Federation of World Records has recognized her as the tallest, prettiest lady of the land and the Guinness World Records folks will take a good look at her next month.

But Amazon Eve’s not worried. She remarked, “They are going to measure me at morning, noon and night, so we’ll see. However, the previous record holder is 6 foot 4, so it looks good.”

David Moye writes that 30 percent of Amazon Eve’s income comes from modeling gigs — she also does some wrestling and acting on the side, and is trained as a paralegal.

She said, “Mainstream modeling wants you small and weak,” adding, “I’m plus-sized and I’m thin and super-fit. I’d like to homogenize what ‘sexy’ means. It’s not just what’s on a magazine cover.”

She recently visited the Playboy mansion and told Fox News, “Sure I would do Playboy. I would need to reduce my muscle mass and soften up a bit, but Hefner is the only one I would pose nude for, because he does it so tastefully.”

Somali Pirates Seize a Yacht, the Quest With 4 Americans on Board

U.S. officials confirmed that a yacht with four Americans aboard has been seized by Somali pirates in the waters of the Indian Ocean. The yacht is about 58 ft in size and belongs to Jean and Scott Adam, who have been sailing the boat around the world for the past seven years. The advocacy group Ecoterra International says its monitoring of regional maritime activity off the coast of East Africa indicates four Americans aboard the yacht S/V Quest were seized by pirates 240 nautical miles off the coast of Oman.

It is not clear whether the Adams — who were on a worldwide cruise — are onboard.

The U.S. military is prepared to intervene in the situation if necessary, said Rear Adm. Charles Gaouette, deputy commander of the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, based in Bahrain.

Jean and Scott Adam — along with two other unidentified Americans — were attacked by pirates in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Somalia.

The U.S. military is weighing a response, a spokesman told The Associated Press on Saturday.

“We’re aware of the situation and we continue to monitor it,” the military spokesman said.

There have been no reports of a ransom request.

The Adams have been sailing around the world for more than six years on their yacht, the Quest, according to a website the couple has, detailing their journey.

“Another aspect of our travels is friendship evangelism – that is, finding homes for thousands of Bibles,” the website states.

The couple belongs to a yacht club in Marina Del Rey, Calif.

“We were so unhappy being ‘dirt dwellers’ during our time in the States that another floating abode had to be acquired,” Jean Adam wrote on the site.

A post earlier this year said they would refuel in Djibouti waters, another pirate flash point.

“Djibouti is a big refueling stop,” said the post, which is not dated. “I have no idea what will happen in these ports, but perhaps we’ll do some local touring.”

“If the owners are onboard, it would be a sad log for the couple on their seven-year world journey,” Ecoterra International, a piracy tracking group, said.

Piracy has flourished off the coast of Somalia, which has not had an effective government for two decades. In April 2009, pirates seized the U.S.-flagged Maersk Alabama, leading to a standoff in the Indian Ocean.

U.S. forces moved to rescue American Capt. Richard Phillips after seeing a pirate aiming a weapon on his back, officials said at the time. Three pirates were killed and one was arrested.

The Somali man arrested was sentenced to more than 30 years in prison.

Largest Public Library in United Kingdom – Library of Birmingham

Mecanoo designed the Library of Birmingham, England with the goal of solidifying Centenary Square as a center for arts, culture, and entertainment. The library design aims to integrate the buoyant cultural aspect of the zone, and transform that into well defined spaces within the building. It will be amalgamated to the Repertory Theater next door, even sharing programs and events, along with a 600 seat theater inside the library itself.

The Library will also feature a unique outdoor amphitheatre for performances that is sunk into the ground and attached on an underground level to the main structure.

To pay tribute to the industrial artisan history of Birmingham, Mecanoo added the ornamental circle/star shaped design that adorns each exterior wall. The façade masks an interior designed around eight cylindrical rotundas that house various collections and let in natural light. To engage visitors to the surrounding Centenary Square, Mecanoo added a cantilevered balcony to overhang the square.

Environmental sustainability was a key goal, among other measures, they employed sun shading and reflective materials in the windows of the transparent façade, which will also respond to environmental conditions and either open or close for fresh air intake and flow. They are also incorporating grey water pumps and taking advantage of the passive solar heating and natural lighting made possible by the facade.

Upon completion, the Library of Birmingham will be the largest public library in the United Kingdom and will replace the Birmingham Central Library, a brutalist design set to be demolished after the Library of Birmingham is completed in 2013.

Renewable energy technologies are likely to become more important as other energy sources become depleted and the cost of power generation using fossil fuels rises. Renewable sources of energy have considerable potential for increasing security of supply although, in most cases, they require significant initial investment. Recognising the importance of developing renewable energy resources, the Highways Agency commissioned a preliminary scoping study in 2001 to explore available methods and assess the possibility of renewable energy generation being exploited within the highway network. This study recommended a positive response by Highways Agency in implementing full-scale trials of renewable energy generation.

Among the various means of transportation, highways cover the widest and in effect the greatest area of our precious landmass. In context of the present scenario, spaces required for energy generation are becoming scarce day by day, and yet paradoxically no substantial effort has been made to make use of the very spaces incorporated by the highways themselves. Make no mistake – solar panels have been laid beside roads, wind turbines have been installed in breezy areas; but the highways themselves continue to be the least utilized ones.

1. Solar Roadways

The Solar Roadway is a prototype of an ‘intelligent’ road with solar panels imbued onto the road itself. Along with generating clean electricity, these panels can also provide data about damages and other information, by the help of microprocessing boards embedded in them.

2. Solar Arch on Highways

The Solar Arch is a concept formulated by industrial designer Tyson Steele. It will provide covering for rural roads, that in turn can generate renewable solar energy for off-grid highway lighting. The Solar Arch can also supplement electricity demands in neighboring low capacity required areas.

3. Jet Stream Super-Highway

Conceived by industrial designer David Huang, this unique concept features vehicles extracting energy from the road infrastructure and roads in turn drawing energy from the environment. Based on an open-return wind tunnel design that produces a continuous stream of air flow from the environment, the roadway is shaped like a half-pipe in cross section. It has a series of solar-powered turbines and fans hovering above to push air into the road pathway, in addition to continuously drawing air at a controlled rate by outer drawing vents on the flanks – forming a cycle effect.

4. E Turbine on the Highways

Conceptualized by industrial designer Pedro Gomes and aptly named the E Turbine, it is basically a wind generation system that uses the air movement emanated from passing traffic to produce and accumulate energy. Supposedly it can also work with street and road lighting, information panels and emergency phones.

5. Green Roadway Project – Solar and wind generators mounted on Highways

Contrived by inventors Gene Fein and Ed Merritt, this >progressive project is based upon the green dictum of endless highways becoming metamorphosed into renewable energy generators, which could one day power our cities with clean energy and can also offer electricity for roadside charging of electric vehicles.

Dispute Over Dubai’s ‘Sinking’ Islands

DUBAI A cluster of near by 300 artificial islands off Dubai’s coast in the shape of a global map is stable, the island developer Nakheel insists, despite a court claim alleging that “The World” was neglected and eroding away.

The islands, many of which represent individual countries and which can only be accessed by boat or helicopter, were meant to be one of the Gulf city-state’s crowning developments.

Builders have announced plans for a few of the islands, but development has yet to begin on most of them.

A company contracted to provide logistics support to the islands filed a claim with a tribunal that handles cases related to the emirate’s troubled Dubai World conglomerate, alleging that third-party developers had not been encouraged to develop the islands, and said they were being hit by erosion.

Murphy/Jahn Architects designed a new transparent set of towers for Sin City naming as Veer° TOWERS. The development features two towers that are inclined at dramatic opposing angles. Defined by simplicity and dynamism, each of the towers will have 37 floors and include about 400 residences.

The high-rise residences float between the base, with its retail functions and 80′ tall lobbies featuring public artwork by Richard Long, and the private amenities and outdoor infinity pools on the roof. The buildings are at once robust and delicate. Slender towers that are clad in clear, non-reflective glass, veer° becomes the first truly transparent building in Las Vegas, creating a visual dialogue between the desert and the residents. In a desert climate, that alone represents a great technological and even cultural challenge. Staggered panels of clear and fritted yellow glass cut glare and provide abundant natural daylight, while animating the facades and enlivening the complex with a welcome shot of color. Horizontal louvers on the east, south and west facades create a repetitive texture to the façade that provides shade from the desert sun.

The manifesto for the project was to exhibit urban responsibility, pay attention to the building’s performance in terms of function and systems, use advanced and available technology, accept the aesthetic of construction and elevate it to a level of art. With the support of the client, these fundamental ambitions allowed us to achieve LEED Gold certification by the USGBC despite having the lowest budget, and most technically challenging design in the city centre complex. veer° TOWERS in turn defines city centre as modern and visionary in constructing and open-ended micro urban system that will inform the future growth of Las Vegas.

At that time, there were some who thought that Sony Ericsson was done with Windows Mobile and won’t be building Windows Phone 7. This relaxing bit of information (for Microsoft specially) comes from the newly appointed Sony Ericsson CEO Jan Uddenfeldt. The CEO while talking to the Swedish NyTeknik had this to say:

Android is definitely our focus, but we haven’t given up on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile, despite its slow uptake. But Windows Phone 7 remains on our roadmap. However, currently we have no plans for new Symbian products.

From the statement it is pretty clear that Android will remain their top priority smartphone platform despite them not being able to come with high revenue generating smartphone. It remains to be seen if the mobile phone makers have what it takes to come up with a prolific and attention grabbing Windows Phone 7 smartphone.

Cumulative sales for the fiscal (April 2010 – August 2010) are 424,938, higher by 42% compared to the corresponding period in 2009-10. Sales of all commercial vehicles were 40,882 nos. in August 2010, a growth of 25%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 192,612 nos., a growth of 35%. Sales of all passenger vehicles were 44,232 nos. in August 2010, a growth of 33%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 232,326 nos., a growth of 49%.

Tata passenger vehicle sales, including those distributed, were 28,012 nos. for the month, a growth of 35%. Cumulative sales for the fiscal are 139,567 nos., a growth of 50%. Jaguar Land Rover global sales in August 2010 were 16,220 vehicles, higher by 29%. Jaguar sales for the month were 3,788, higher by 33%, while Land Rover sales were 12,432, higher by 28%. Android beats Windows Mobile in Global Market

According to the first quarter data for mobile phone market share released by Gartner, Android has emerged victorious over Windows Mobile. Bear in mind the fact that we are talking about the market share at the global level, so this is a worthy achievement for Google.

While Android has beaten Microsoft’s mobile OS in the market share race it still stands behind iPhone. iPhone has grabbed the third spot with the first spot going to Symbian and the second spot going to RIM. Android is sitting pretty at the fourth spot. But don’t be surprise if you find it outperforming major mobile platforms by the 1Q of 2011.

Sony To Announce Premium Subscriptions For PSN

This site has learned from a highly placed source that Sony will be announcing ‘Premium Subscription Packages’ for the PlayStation Network. Up till now PSN is a free online gaming service provided to PS3 console owners with no monthly or annual fees. But since its launch its user base has grown many folds.

A gaming survey released by Kotaku stated that PSN now has more users online than Xbox Live which in comparison to PSN requires monthly or yearly subscriptions.The source also said that the announcement of these premium subscriptions will not in any way affect the free services already offered on PSN. Meaning that players who want to carry on playing for free on PSN can do so at their own free will.

So what is Sony offering premium users? VG247 further states that Premium Packages will include:

One free PSN game every month! from a selection of 2-4 games.(each game costs around 10-15$)
A streaming music application will be announced which can run in the background while players play games.
Also the “Cross Game Voice Chat” Feature is rumored to be for everyone not only for Premium Users.

If the above rumors are true then its a shame for all the XBL players since they will have to pay for the online play no matter what while Playstation users can choose between a Premium Subscription and Free online play.

Android Coming for HTC HD2!

Android is available on many smartphones and we have even seen it running on smartphones on which it cannot be installed, e.g. the iPhone. And now thanks to some developers, we have a news that its coming very soon for HTC HD2 as well which is quite exciting.

Developers at XDA Forums are working to bring Android to HTC HD2. Previously Touch Pro 2, a Windows Mobile handset, was seen running the Android OS and now the same hack is being ported to HTC HD2 as well.

XDA developers are working on many such experiments; recently they have been able to run a 720p video on HTC HD2 using Linux Boot Loader.

Previously we have seen Android for iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G versions and a day ago we also reported about Android for iPod Touch being in works. Now we only wait for it to be ported to other HTC smartphones, including the HTC HD2.

Apple working on Flash alternative named ‘Gianduia’

Apple has been after Adobe Flash since the launch of the iPhone and now with the iPad, Apple plans to completely destroy it to make room for it’s home baked alternative called Gianduia.

Named after Italian hazelnut chocolate, Gianduia will rival Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight.

Apple introduced Gianduia last summer at WOWODC (World of WebObjects Developer Conference), an independent event scheduled near the company’s own WWDC event in June. It is likely that more information will surface at this year’s WOWODC and WWDC events. Gianduia, named after an Italian hazelnut chocolate, is “essentially is browser-side Cocoa (including CoreData) + WebObjects, written in JavaScript by non-js-haters.

Giandui will be able to provide a platform for developers to create Rich Internet Applications such as MobileMe that has been created by Apple using SproutCore Javascript Framework. Currently! Apple Retail has actually already been using Gianduia to create web app clients.

However with the advent of HTML5, the question is whether such new platforms are even needed anymore?

‘BlackPad’ Tablet runs on BlackBerry; originally Android

Very recently, we informed you folks about RIM secretly working on its first Tablet. In that post, we told you that the BlackPad would be powered by BlackBerry OS. It turns out that BlackBerry was a second choice OS and Android was the first choice until someone decided to change the firmware.

This surprising bit of news was revealed by Ashok Kumar, an industry analyst. Kumar revealed that the tablet was originally supposed to be powered by Android and if the associated party went on with that option, the BlackBerry Tablet would have made an appearance before the end of this year.

The thing which could have resulted in this change of plan is believed to be RIM finally working out a way to make their firmware support touch-screen devices. I just have this feeling if BlackBerry had gone ahead with the Android OS they could have had a better chance to compete against the likes of Apple. But it turns out that the RIM folks are the adventorous kind. Let us see how fruitful this adventure turns out for the mobile phone makers.

Google working on Android Slate Tablet; Does Flash Too

Apple Launches New Updated Macbook Pro Family

A couple of days ago we posted on a rumor that suggested that Apple might be preparing to launch an updated line-up of new Macbook Pro on 13th April and it gives us pleasure to reveal that Apple has now officially updated the Macbook Pro Family.

As expected, the new 15-inch and 17-inch Macbook Pro models have been updated with Intel's Core i5 and i7 processors which provide better performance and a better battery life.

The new Macbook Pro models now come with a standard RAM at 4 GB which can be upgraded to 8 GB at an additional cost of $400. As for the graphics, they are now powered by a Nvidia GeForce GT 330M with 256MB of memory.

That's not all. The new 15-inch Macbook Pro model now comes with a glossy, hi-res glossy and a high-res antiglare widescreen display to choose from.

Apple claims that all new models now come with a battery-life of up to 10 hours straight on a single charge. The 13-inch model costs at US $1199, while the 15-inch and 17-inch are priced at $1799 and $2299 respectively.

Hacker manages to port Android to iPhone

This is not a dream folks. A hacker has actually managed to port Android 1.6 OS on the original iPhone. Now! it can do everything from making calls to browsing the web etc.

The hacker who goes by the name of planetbeing has demonstrated the hack in a video using OpeniBoot which is a tool developed to dual-boot the iPhone with the Android OS.

The hacker created Apple-hardware specific drivers for the Android OS to function properly. And to come around the obstacle of lack of physical buttons in iPhone, the hacker re-purposed the volume up and down controls to serve as the call and home buttons for the Android.

Toshiba working on a dual screen Windows Tablet?

Digitimes is upto its leakage ways yet again. This time the sources reports of Toshiba looking to enter into the Tablet arena. The organization is believed to make an entry into the Tablet market with not one but two gadgets.

One of the gadgets will run the popular Android OS. The other one will run on Windows CE 7 and not Windows 7. But perhaps the most interesting part is this - the Windows based Tablet sized PC will come with a dual LCD screen. Nvidia's Tegra 2 will perform the processor duties for both the Tablets.

Compal Electronics will be responsible to ship the tablets with the shipment expected around late 2010 or early 2011. Wait a minute, does the presence of a double LCD screen points to the arrival of the Microsoft Courier Tablet which is rumored to arrive in the same time frame. As always, time will tell.

Google.hk Offering Only Censored Search Results

With months of negotiations and talks held on different levels, the result as we predicted was not in favor of the internet search giant Google. Google eventually wrapped up its operation on the search engine side (Google.cn) and started redirecting the users to Google's Hong Kong based site, as earlier reported. Millions of Chinese users were at surprise when they were welcomed by Google's uncensored Hong Kong based search engine. We had also predicted that uncensored search results available on another domain for the Chinese users was a game being played with the authorities. We knew some action might be taken as the warning was immediately issued to Google.

In the early hours of Tuesday, the Government of China made a strict move again. Users are now being restricted and are facing problems accessing the Hong Kong based site. Google thought that this way it would be able to keep the millions of Chinese users happy and retain the share of Google in China's fast growing Internet search market.

But this could not happen, as anything happening inside the country which it prohibits will be taken off the airwaves. Chinese users could not see uncensored Hong Kong content as the government computers disabled searches or the related content was blocked.

Google's move to Hong Kong made the Beijing officials angry, who thought that Google was playing a game with them in displaying results which they don't allow. The government's censorship policies are strict and there is no possible way to crack it.

It is also being rumored that the deal between Google and China Mobile is about to collapse due to the action taken by the government on the internet search giant. China Mobile was to feature Google's search engine on its mobile internet home page, which is accessed by millions of users daily. China Mobile is under immense government pressure to cancel the deal and look for an alternative.

China Unicom, the second largest mobile company has also been heard as saying that it would be delaying or completely scrapping the deal with Google to introduce a cellphone based on Google's Android Platform.

A Government official told:

The Chinese are very serious about pushing their soft-power agenda. Google just put a big hole in that sales pitch, and I think they know that. So the idea that Google can take out its search business and leave everything else, and China will just forgive and forget — that’s very much not how the Chinese government works.

Twitter Adds Real-Time Tweets to New Homepage

Twitter made a drastic change as it updated the homepage, bringing in an all new look for the users. From now on, with affect from March 30, user's tweet will be tweeting in real-time. The outlook is presented on the main page of Twitter and you would notice the change while you are signed out. The live ticker which moves up as top tweets are tweetcasted inside the trending topics box. Mouse over the topic would explain the popular keyword on the site at the moment.

The magic and the fun which makes the page so special and updated is the middle rail where changes seem to occur in real time. The TopTweets are updated as fresh content pours in every other second. With companies and users already benefiting by the tweets they make, selling products, bringing in traffic to their sites, launch of products etc. Dell and Pepsi are the two ones who have made millions of dollars from Twitter.

While in the middle we see the real time tweets pouring in, on the left we are presented with an outlook of suggested Twitter users. Airtel Doubles Broadband speed at no extra cost!

An exciting news is here for all Airtel Broadband users. Recently, Bharti Airtel has made an official announcement to double the speed for its Broadband customers at no extra charge.

Airtel is upgrading speeds of all its existing customers (on 64, 128, 256 Kbps) to a minimum of 512 Kbps. Further, customers currently on 512 Kbps plans and 1 Mbps plans will have their speeds doubled to 1Mbps and 2Mbps respectively. The upgrades come at no extra cost to existing customers and will be completed by June 2010 pan India.

Airtel also announced the launch of ‘Impatience Plans’ – Offering 4 Mbps speed plans starting at Rs. 899/ month.

Celebrate Navroz the Parsi way

It might be peak summer in most parts of the country, thanks to the rising mercury levels, but as far as the Parsi community is concerned it is time to celebrate spring. With Navroz right around the corner, they are gearing up to welcome spring with elan.

Says model and actor Nauheed Cyrusi, “Unlike the Iranians, this is not a New Year for us. Instead, during Navroz, we celebrate the coming of spring.” Elaborating on the traditions that are associated with it, she says, “On this day, we lay a new Persian rug on the table. On it we keep a lot of dry fruits, special Iranian paneer, some Iranian flat bread similar to naan. This apart, every year we have a special animal sacred to the year, so we put a tiny idol of the animal on the cloth as well. We also have a mirror with rose water on the side, so that when people come, we can see their reflection and sprinkle rose water on them to signify a prosperous time ahead. Then we light a diya because we worship fire.”

When it comes to the food associated with the festivities, adds Nauheed, it completely differs from one family to another, but in her house it is all about a lot of falooda. “We lose count of the number of guests who show up at home on this day, so my mom makes heaps of falooda, so that anyone who wants to drink falooda can.” While some indulge in the traditional Iranian fare like the berry pulao and kebabs, others just go for Parsi cuisine. “As for my family, we live in a Parsi colony which has a community event where we get to have Parsi food. We have dhansak, pulao dal, patrani machchi and custard, which makes up the traditional Parsi cuisine.” But in the end, it is more about the spirit of sharing all that is there in the house, the goodies laid on the table, rather than eating the food, she adds.

Patrani Machchi is not only great to eat but also extremely healthy. Just take the required number of pomfrets. Clean the fish and dice them into three parts, but leave out the head. Then make a mixture of coriander leaves and mint leaves. Add a pinch of salt and a bit of sugar (it should be a little sweet) and mirchi powder. Add a little water to make the mixture a little watery. Coat the fish pieces with the mixture and then place the fish in a banana leaf and wrap the leaf around the fish. Steam the wrapped fish in a steamer or pressure cooker. Once the fish is soft to touch, it is ready to eat. Serve it with rice or naan.

New Facebook Email Virus can Steal Passwords

One of the biggest and most popular social media network, Facebook, has been made the target again. Intelligent anti-virus company McAfee has reported that the social networking site has been hit by a virus which aims to steal passwords as well as other sensitive information from the user's account. Some 400 million users are currently registered with Facebook and have been declared highly vulnerable.

The comes acts in a different way and comes via an email which declares that the specific user's password has been reset due to technical reasons. All Facebook accounts are going through the same and due to which the user needs to reset the password. Further on the user is asked to click and download the attachment which contains the new password and login details. Upon downloading and opening of the document the attachment unleashes a group of Trojans, which also include the password stealing software.

This threat is potentially very dangerous considering that there are over 350 million Facebook users who could fall for this scam.

This is not the first attack on the social media, Hackers have targeted the site before sending them messages via the company's own internal system. But this being a little different, the attack is being used with a regular Internet email address. McAfee has estimated that the hackers have sent tens of thousands of emails worldwide which has already targeted a lot in the United States and Europe.

The trend of porting a mobile OS to a tablet isn't a new one at all. After all, mobile OS are much finger-friendly than the full featured OS that we mainly use on our laptops and desktops.

Here, designer Umang Dokey has taken inspiration from the same approach and made a concept tablet that runs on Windows Phone 7 OS. The Tablet has a 8-inch capacitive touch screen, 2 web cams for 3D video calling, an in-built stand and a keyboard.

Interestingly! other companies like Apple and Google have already begun to make tablet-devices out of their mobile OS, so something like the Windows Phone 7 OS Tablet shouldn't be far from reality.

There are hundreds of ways out there on how to improve the visibility of your websites or blogs, and at times that information can drive you out of your focus on your Search Engine Optimization campaign. To prevent what we usually call as “information overload”, I have set up a brief 10 to-do list.

Do the actions listed below for a consistent three months and see the results for your websites or blogs:

Constantly update your content: if you want more traffic, you have to continuously update your content. People will not visit your websites if they do not have good and high quality content. Without a constant update, there will not be any returning visitors as well.

Remember to also make friends and connections in StumbleUpon to increase your personal popularity and credibility on the website.
Become a guest poster: offer your unique writings and articles to other people’s blogs. People love to get free and high quality blog content. In your article, make sure you put a link back to your website. Again, make sure that the article you submit as a guest blogger is unique and cannot be found on any other blogs.
Put keywords on images: if you use images on your blog posts, then it is crucial for you to give them relevant title and tag them with relevant keywords. In my soccer website, a large portion of my visitors come from people looking for soccer wallpaper from Google’s image search.
Comments, comments and comments: when you give comments, people will know that you give notice, and they will appreciate that. However, please do not spam. Some people just love to put comments such as “Hi, nice blog, how about visiting mine?”. Those kind of comments will be removed without question and you will only offend your blogger peers.
Use MyBlogLog: sign up to MyBlogLog and join to all the communities available there and you will see visitors start coming from MyBlogLog.
Do not waste your time: don’t waste your time with “get rich quick scheme” promises. Concentrate on giving quality content, then the traffic and the money will come.
Most important, always review your stats: by reviewing your sites’ statistics using Google Analytical tool, you will find out what kind of keywords that your visitors use to come across your site and which articles that are the most appealing for them. The results of your review can then be used for more effective and efficient future campaigns.

1. Social media addiction

Social media is good to bring traffic on blog. But involving too much in social media and forget your original work (generating content) is not good for your blog. Try to avoid too much social media involvement. Remember that content is the king and it is responsible for traffic. Social media is secondary thing.

2. Work from bed

There are many bloggers who work from bed and they stick to this habit. If you work 1 hour then it would not a serious issue but if you are giving 7 to 10 hours daily for your work then it is a serious matter. For those people we already give some tips to setup office at home for professional blogging.

3. Never proofread articles

I already told you that proofreading article is a best way to find your errors inside the post. Try to read two or three times to find mistakes of your post. Also ensure that don’t start editing your post while writing it.

4. Giving current news

If your blog has some decent traffic then providing breaking news is not incorrect because your post will get a good exposure. But if your blog gets a fever traffic then it is not a good idea to show current news through your blog. Remember, there are several good blogs which are doing this work properly and efficiently.

5. Too much coffee

Coffee is good when you take breaks during your work. But consuming too much coffee (nicotine) is not good for your health and for your work. It will effect your mind and overall productivity.

6. Working in cluttered space

7. Being non social

My friends always complain that I never find too much time for them. I involve in my work so much that I never found time for any social activities which is actually not good. I am trying to improve my habit. I generally take break from my work (on Sunday) and plan movies and dinner with friends.

8. Working late night

Bloggers love to work late night. Probably this is because in night they found no disturbance. They free to do all their pending work in silence. But I suggest you to work in day time. Try to wake early morning and start working with fresh mind. You don’t need to follow strict 9 to 6 office time but completing all work early in a day would invite some relief to you.

9. Drinking habit

10. No vacations

Recently a friend of mine was about to purchase something online. Since he was inexperienced in shopping online, he consulted me and I told him to make sure that the site was reliable. I helped him determine whether or not the website should be trusted. We started off with finding any user comments on other trustworthy websites about that online store – we failed to find any. Next I tried out a more simple approach. The store claimed to be based in Canada; but with the help of a great Firefox add-on I found out that its IP address belonged to China. Needless to say, my friend did not go on with the purchase.

Checking if a site’s server is where it claims to be can be a quick way to measure the site’s reliability. Although not all security decisions should be based on the server’s location alone, it can give us another thing to factor in our decision. Today I will be sharing with you the tool I used to perform this task – Flagfox.

I’m pleased to tell you that the RBI has now allowed us to resume bank withdrawals for settlements for exports of goods and services. We are currently making changes to comply with Indian regulations for settlements for exports of goods and services, and we anticipate that as of Wednesday, March 3rd, we will be able to resume the bank withdrawal service. As part of the changes, you will be required to fill out a new field entitled ‘Export Code’ when you request a withdrawal. This information is required under the current laws of India in order to identify the nature of cross-border merchant transactions. On Monday, March 1st, we will be back in touch with specific instructions on how you can move your money into your bank account. I will be posting another blog then.

Apple iPad with Multitasking and Dashboard – Possible?

While we do not believe that Apple has any plans to incorporate multitasking in it's upcoming tablet computer, the Apple iPad, but Kevin Fox from MacRumors has an interesting theory to share.

Accroding to Kevin, several of the stock apps found in the iPhone are missing from the iPad (based on the demo by Steve Jobs and the visuals on Apple.com) and since both the devices run on the same OS, the only explanation for this could be that Apple is preparing to introduce all these apps as widgets in a dashboard, much like the same one found in Mac OS X. Perhaps! this is some of the surprise-pie that Apple wants to save for the iPad launch. A render of the iPad with a dashboard, made by Macpredictions, can be seen above.

On the other hand, as much as we believe that introducing multitasking in its mobile devices would be the last thing Apple plans to do, we also believe that iPad is more than just a mobile device, it's a whole new class.

Blogspot FTP Publishing Stops : What’s next?

There are few features in Blogspot which makes it quite popular among blogspot users like custom domain name, FTP publishing and latest Page feature in blogspot.

In FTP features, images and file which you upload will be uploaded to your own web server instead of Google server. For people who are not using Blogspot FTP publishing their images are hosted at Picasa.

From March 26th Blogspot will stop FTP publishing feature and you will left with only two option either switch to blogspot server for file hosting or migrate your blogspot blog to Wordpress.

For that reason, we are announcing today that we will no longer support FTP publishing in Blogger after March 26, 2010.

Though Blogspot guys also promised that they will launch a ftp migration tool, which will help you to put everything back to Blogger server.

Burj Khalifa is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is the tallest man-made structure or skyscraper ever built, with height of 828 metres (2,717 ft). Its construction began on 21 September 2004 and the building officially opened on 4 January 2010. The total budget for the Burj Khalifa project is about US$1.5 billion; and for the entire new "Downtown Dubai", US$20 billion.

The tower is designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, which also designed the Willis Tower in Chicago, Illinois and 1 World Trade Center in New York City, among numerous other famous high-rises.

Blogging should not be misunderstood as journalism. There is a big difference between these two. The journalism rights do not govern blogging and neither the blogger.But blogging should be seen as a privileged platform which empowers one to write with free will. This is a comprehensive list of some basic facts about blogging rights, a list of common questions answered by the Electronic Frontier Foundation. These are the five things any blogger should understand clearly.

Know Your Rights

Images : The use of images is hazy though images have the same copyright as text. Images can be used as thumbnails or parts of images can be used safely in most cases. It is advisable to mention a full credit for the image to the site it is taken from to be on the safe side.
Blogging and Journalism : Bloggers are not Journalists but Journalists can blog. A journalist can use a blogging platform to write a journalism blog, but a blogger does not have the same rights as a Journalist.
Defamation Claims : A claim to defamation can be made if the information provided by the defame is false. In case the information is true, it is a defense to defamation only if supported with adequate proof.
Trademark : A trademark can be used in any content till it is unique

Google India Offers Free Advertising Coupons to Attract Small Advertisers

Now that’s definitely not in line with the information that I received from Google’s PR company. Update B: Google has confirmed that "there was some communication error by the agent". You don’t have to send them a check in advance but the offer does require you to deposit an activation fee to avail the free AdWords coupon from Google India.

Here are the full terms and conditions according to an email from Google’s PR.

Advertisers with self-managed signup accounts are subject to a Rs. 250 account activation fee. Prepay customers must deposit Rs. 500 into their account for activation. Offer expires on 30th Nov, 2009.

Promotional credit must be applied to a new AdWords account within 14 days of creating the AdWords account and is valid only for new Google AdWords customers with self-managed signup accounts. Advertisers will be charged for advertising that exceeds the promotional credit.

Fake Facebook e-mail contains Trojan

A new variant of the Bredolab Trojan horse is attached to a fake "Facebook Password Reset Confirmation" e-mail, security firm MX Labs is reporting.

Some users are receiving the e-mail from "The Facebook Team," according to the security firm. The sender's e-mail address displays "service@facebook.com." In reality, the address and sender were spoofed.

MX Labs found that the e-mail was accompanied by an attachment named, "Facebook_Password_4cf91.zip and includes the file Facebook_Password_4cf91.exe" that, the e-mail claims, contains the user's new Facebook password. The security firm said that the element between the underscore and .zip are randomly chosen letters and numbers for each recipient.

When a user downloads the file, it could wreak havoc on their computer. MX Labs said in a blog post that the Trojan horse Bredolab "executes files from the Internet, such as rogue anti-spyware. To bypass firewalls, it injects its own code into legitimate processes svchost.exe and explorer.exe. Bredolab contains anti-sandbox code (the trojan might quit itself when an external program investigates its actions)." In other words, it's nasty.

Once it makes its way to the user's PC, Bredolab creates "%AppData%\wiaservg.log" and "%Programs%\Startup\isqsys32.exe" in the user's system files. MX Labs said that it also creates two new processes, called "isqsys32.exe" and "svchost.exe."

Another security watchdog, M86 Security, wrote that there's more to the outbreak than Bredolab. After it sneaks its way onto the user's computer, M86 said, Bredolab downloads a bot called Pushdo. The company found that Pushdo immediately starts "spamming out more of these Facebook password reset e-mails."

For its part, Facebook was quick to point out that the e-mail containing the virus wasn't coming from the social network.

"This virus is being distributed through email, not on Facebook," a Facebook spokesperson wrote. "The email is disguised as a Facebook password reset e-mail with an attachment that purportedly contains the new password, but is actually the virus. We're educating users on how to detect this through the Facebook Security Page."

Facebook said that users should be "suspicious of unexpected emails claiming to be from Facebook." The company also said that it will never send users a new password as an attachment.

Those users that have downloaded the file should use anti-malware software to remove it. Click here for a list of security software available from CNET's Download database.

Firefox gains 30 million users in eight weeks

Mozilla's open-source Firefox browser has gained 30 million users over the past eight weeks, as it continues to gain on Internet Explorer.

Chief Executive John Lilly revealed the increase in user adoption in a Twitter post on Monday, and Tristan Nitot, president of Mozilla Europe, confirmed it to ZDNet UK on Tuesday.

"We've seen a significant increase in the number of users for Firefox," Nitot said. "Firefox checks for new versions every 24 hours, when it's running, and when it checks, it pings the Mozilla server. We count the number of pings."

State AGs on Google Books settlement: We object

Five state attorneys general have joined the opposition to Google's settlement with book authors and publishers, objecting to the way the settlement distributes unclaimed funds.

The attorneys general for Connecticut, Missouri, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Washington joined the chorus of opposition to the settlement this week, filing briefs with Judge Denny Chin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York before the October 7 hearing to determine whether the settlement should be approved. The states involved are not pleased with the way the Books Rights Registry set up as part of the deal appears to usurp their ability to collect unclaimed payments on behalf of their citizens.

Under the settlement proposed by Google and several author and publisher groups, Google would be allowed to continue digitizing out-of-print but copyright-protected books and offer them--subject to rights holder approval--on Google Book Search. The company would then share a portion of the revenue earned from selling ads against those book search results, as well as links to book retailers with book rights holders, through the nonprofit Books Rights Registry.

The issue that irks the states is that when the rights holders can't be located, the Books Rights Registry would keep the proceeds on their behalf while they continue the search for those individuals or groups. Laws in the states objecting to the deal require the state treasurer to be the one who accepts an unclaimed payment on behalf of its citizens, according to a copy of the brief submitted by Missouri's Chris Koster.

Missouri said it objected only on that narrow issue and would not comment on the settlement in its entirety, but Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal also voiced concerns about potential antitrust matters, according to MarketWatch.

Google is reportedly talking with the Department of Justice about possible modifications to the settlement that could alleviate the Justice Department's concerns of the settlement, which has drawn intense scrutiny from various parts of the legal, technology, and publishing worlds.

PowerReviews to offer social product reviews to brands

PowerReviews, a company that provides white-label customer review tools for retailers and brands, is preparing to release a new service called BrandConnect.

BrandConnect features two elements: Listener and Megaphone. According to Darby Williams, the vice president of marketing at PowerReviews, "Listener will help brands track and understand what their customers really want out of their products."

To do so, PowerReviews first asks users to review a product in more detail than they might be accustomed to. According to Williams, the process will first ask consumers what the pros and cons were of a particular product. It then asks them to describe how they use it.

Listener then examines the data gathered from each review and aggregates responses for the client. Williams contends that the tool's statistical data helps deliver actionable content to PowerReviews' clients.

Williams said in a phone interview on Wednesday that most companies are averse to negative customer reviews. To limit that, PowerReviews employs a two-level moderation process. It first analyzes negative reviews containing "at least one word in the comments and three checked cons" to ensure no profanity or unnecessary negativity is included in a respective review. From there, those negative reviews are sent to the client, giving them the option of removing the negative review or allowing it to stay on the site.

Williams told me that PowerReviews encourages its clients to keep negative reviews in place to maintain credibility, but ultimately that decision rests with those clients.

Megaphone
BrandConnect will also feature a tool called Megaphone. The company's Megaphone feature gives customers the option to syndicate their reviews to Facebook, Twitter, and their blogs.

While they're writing a review, consumers are notified by Megaphone that they can share it when it's completed. They can either use Facebook Connect or log in to Twitter to syndicate their review to the respective social networks. A snippet of about two sentences will be displayed on Facebook, followed by a link to the review. That same form will be displayed on the user's blog if they choose to syndicate it there. A message will populate Twitter's input box, giving users the option to introduce their review to followers.

PowerReviews said it believes that it's that social element that could significantly improve its clients' ability to drive traffic to their sites. The company makes BrandConnect available to retailers and brands on Tuesday.

Vreebit rewards users for social networking

Vreebit is an immensely complex social-networking site, launched in beta on Thursday.

After seeing that it has taken Facebook five and a half years to become cash flow-positive, it seems that founders Michael Fleischmann and Chuck Donnelley are trying to create a new revenue model for their social network.

Vreebit includes a wealth of features, including a calendar, tasks, resume, docs and photos, links, discussions, polls, petitions, expert advice (think Yahoo Answers), and the ability to create your own 11-page Web site.

Upon signing up, users are given 100 "VreeBees," which are a virtual currency that can be used to buy actual goods on the site. You can earn more by participating in surveys, referring users, clicking on ads, and providing expert advice.

The VreeMarket offers a ton of things for users to buy with their VreeBees, ranging from books to video games to clothing. Not only can Vreebit post items for sale there, but actual users can post items as well, setting their price in VreeBees. This section of the site could also benefit from partnerships with some outside retailers.

VreeBees can also be used in exchange for services on the site, such as placing an advertisement, getting expert advice, and creating a survey. All of this activity creates an interesting economy on the site designed to motivate users to participate more.

The elements of this site that participate in the VreeBee economy seem to make sense, if the site can gain enough users. They are pretty unique and will drive more use of the service. However, other aspects of the site may greatly benefit from hook-ins with third-party services.

For example, instead of having to fill out your calendar on Vreebit (which doesn't sound overly appealing) the service could pull from Google Calendar for its content. And even though it is competing with Facebook, I think that Vreebit could benefit from using Facebook Connect, which can speed up account setup, automatically bringing in contact information and user data, as well as maintaining the same log-in.

Although Vreebit might be a bit crowded with not-so-enticing features, and users will likely be a bit wary of being rewarded specifically for clicking on ads (this will surely sink its ad rates through the floor), its virtual-currency model may have some potential.

With the addition of hook-ins for some third-party services, Vreebit may have a chance at becoming a viable social network, but for the moment, some users might be scared away by the amount of site features and the amount of time it takes to set up a new account--not to mention the fact that there's not much incentive to join a social network unless your friends are already there.

Test-drive: Office Web Apps technical preview

Microsoft has finally started to open up its Web-based versions of Office apps to early testers. Thursday we got access to a "technical preview" of Excel and PowerPoint on the Web (not, notably, Word). The obvious comparison that will be made is to Google Docs.

Excel

The version of Excel that we have access to is the most similar to Google Docs in capabilities. It allows simultaneous editing -- two or more people working on a spreadsheet at the same time. As in Google Docs' spreadsheet app, as soon as one person updates a part of the spreadsheet, everyone else viewing the sheet gets the change in real time, or close enough to it. Users don't have to "save" their file for the changes to get pushed out.

In raw editing capability, Excel on the Web beats Google. It will have features approaching the PC counterpart of the app, not to mention the same user interface (the "ribbon" Office users are accustomed to) instead of Google's old-timey but clear pull-down menus. The commonality between the Web and PC versions of the products should make it easier for people to pop between the desktop Office apps and their Web counterparts.

In the preview we saw the user interface of the Web-based version of Excel is extremely close to the traditional version of the app. Getting comfortable with the app took no time at all. It's just a lot slower than the desktop version. Given that this is such an early preview, we were not surprised that many tabs and features were missing from the Web app. But complex formatting, database elements, and charts from Excel files created in Windows transferred with good "fidelity" (that's Microsoft's word) to the Web. It appears users won't lose anything in translation in the move from editing documents on a desktop to the Web.

However, setting up sharing is much more tedious in Office Web Apps than it is in Google Docs. In Office Web, you don't share files, you share folders. So to share a spreadsheet, you first save it to a particular folder, and then share that folder with the people who you want to let into the file. That's no big deal if you're just sharing one file, but if you want to share different files with different groups of people, it's confusing and tedious, since you have to create a different folder for each set of people you want to share with. If you want to change the sharing specifics on one document in a folder but not others, you'll have to move the document to a different folder. This is a catastrophic design flaw. Worse, there's not even a clear "share" link. You have to find the "Shared with" entry in each folder, click on the "People I selected" link, then "Edit permissions," then enter the name of the person or people you want to share with, and then, once that person shows up in your sharing list, you have to change the default permission from "view" to "edit."

Google, for its part, lets you share files from within the files themselves, by selecting "Invite people" from the "Share" menu. It makes much more sense. You can also see all your Google docs in one big list. With Microsoft, you have to page through your folders to see your documents. Microsoft does have a nice browser plug-in for drag-and-drop uploading of files, however. That's a bonus, but not enough of one to offset the awful sharing workflow.

PowerPoint

Like the online version of Excel, PowerPoint on the Web is a high-fidelity experience. Documents come through just as they appear on the PC, and can be edited in place on the Web. Most of the graphically intensive features, like adding animations and design elements, are not yet in this preview, though, so we could not evaluate the experience of creating complex builds and graphics over a Web connection. PowerPoint documents displayed very well on the Web, as I said, but I'd like to see a real full-screen slideshow viewer (the current version displays just a touch of browser frame) for showing presentations over the Web.

The capability to edit a PowerPoint doc from any Web-connected PC right before you have to make the actual talk will make many presenters a lot less nervous about making last-minute changes before a pitch.

As in Excel on the Web, only new Office 2007 files (.PPTX for Powerpoint; .XLSX for Excel) can be edited online. Older .PPTs can be viewed and displayed, but not edited.

Word

Finally, while online Word editor isn't available yet (the viewer is, and it works well), we did learn a few things about the capability -- none good. First of all, Word online won't get you simultaneous editing. When you open a file to work on it you will lock it, and other people won't be able to get in to change things. If you want simultaneous editing, you'll apparently be able to do it from within the Word 2010 installed app. Online simultaneous editing is "on the road map," we're told, but won't be ready even when Office Web Apps goes public in 2010.

OneNote is on the same track as Word, and will get editing capabilities online when Word does.

You also won't be able to embed your Word documents in other Web pages, Scribd-like. There will be options to embed Excel files. (The feature does not seem to be turned on yet.)

It's no Google

Office Web Apps is a fundamentally different product from Google Docs. The apps run more slowly than the lightweight online Google productivity apps, but Microsoft will offer more features and commonality with the desktop apps.

For people and companies that have standardized on Microsoft Office, the preview shows that Office Web Apps will do a good job of extending the desktop experience to the Web. But the desktop legacy may also be a liability. File management -- moving documents between desktop and Web, or keeping them in sync across platforms -- is going to be complex, and it's unclear how Microsoft is going to integrate its desktop apps, PC sync products like Mesh, and Web-based storage services like Skydrive, where Office Web Apps stores files for consumers. Also, Enterprise customers can use SharePoint for storage, which may not integrate well with workers' personal file stores, online or offline.

In what appears to be a childish move, but one that Microsoft is defending by saying, "we had to prioritize," Office Web Apps doesn't work on Google's Chrome browser. That's a shame, since for Web apps (as opposed to more-static sites), I have found Chrome to be a faster and thus more usable platform than Firefox or Internet Explorer. (Office Web Apps also supports Safari.)

In summary, Office Web Apps is, very clearly, the desktop Office suite put on the Web. It's feature-rich and appears to be targeted at individuals creating complex documents on their own. New users who don't need or want the complexity of a desktop app, or who are more accustomed to working hand-in-hand with others, may be put off. Certainly, if Microsoft releases this product to the public without fixing the collaboration workflow, even die-hard Office users will avoid the service when they're in a hurry and have work to do with colleagues.

Browser-based Office shows its face

The technology preview of Office Web Apps allows users to edit Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations and view (but not edit) Word documents.

Microsoft plans on Thursday to start public testing for the first browser-based version of Office, although the technology preview is at least as notable for what it doesn't include as what it does offer.

The limited test of the so-called Office Web Apps includes versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, but not the OneNote note-taking application. And while Excel and PowerPoint offer the ability to edit and create documents, the current Web-based version of Word can only be used to view documents, essentially the same capability it already offers as part of its current Office Live Workspace product.

Microsoft said the Web versions of OneNote and Word share "the same editing surface," and that the technology is still being worked on.

"We made the hard decision to turn off editing in the Word Web App at Tech Preview, in order for people to have the best experience at this early stage," Microsoft said.

Microsoft plans to offer the Web Apps preview first to users of Windows Live SkyDrive, giving them 25GB worth of storage.

The Office Web Apps are scheduled to be launched along with Office 2010--the next version of Office, with both browser-based and desktop programs due out in the first half of next year. The Office Web Apps will be made available to consumers as a free, ad-supported part of Windows Live, while businesses will be able to offer them to workers via their own SharePoint servers or through the Microsoft Online subscription service.

Microsoft said it will have editing abilities for Word and a version of OneNote by the time the Office Web Apps launch in final form. The current technology preview will be made available to tens of thousands of users, with a broader beta planned for later this fall. However, Microsoft would not commit to offering editing abilities for Word by the beta release.

Once finished, the browser-based versions will all offer editing, though not all of the capabilities of their desktop counterparts. Excel and OneNote will feature live co-authoring abilities, while all the Office Web Apps will work only while a user is connected to the Internet.

Microsoft also takes a different approach when it comes to sharing documents than do its rivals. While Google Apps lets users share a document directly, Office Web Apps enables sharing at the folder level--meaning that to share a document, a user must save it into a folder on Windows Live SkyDrive and then share that folder.

Forrester analyst Sheri McLeish said that the Office Web Apps do appear to be more complicated than rivals such as Google Docs or Zoho Office.

"Google and Zoho are very easy to get started on today, requiring just a step to register before being able to work on a document or spreadsheet," McLeish said. "Microsoft's Office Web Apps do not seem to match that level of ease to get started."

On the plus side, McLeish noted that Office offers a depth not found in its online rivals.

"Once you are in the Web Apps the experience is very much the same as the desktop suite," McLeish said. "And for enterprises, deployment choices to host the Web Apps themselves on-premise is a big differentiator from Google and Zoho."

As for the current release, Microsoft noted that it is still in pre-beta form and has a number of known issues.

"It's still going to be rough around the edges," said Ural Cebeci, a senior product manager in Microsoft's Office unit.

Earlier Compact discs came in market which brought the revolution in storing devices. After that, DVD (Digital Video discs) has invented which solved the storage problem at certain level. But still people are facing some kind of storage problem but this time this problem gonna over with the invention of Next-gen DVD which can store 2000 movies more then any storage device like Blu- ray Disc.

The Next-gen DVD can store 10,000 times more data than current DVDs. This kind of DVDs may be come in market with in a decade. The DVD capacity is 1.6 terabytes of data which is quite higher then current DVDs and Blu- ray disc capacities. Some of researchers says that The capacity of the disc can be increased by adding gold nanorods to the disc because nanorods react to light according to their shape thus allowing us to record information using light of different wavelengths, or colours, on the same location on the disc. Apart from this, polorisation is also helps to increase the capacity of disc.

Professor Min Gu, Director of the Centre for Micro-Photonics at Swinburne said "We have created a new recording device that can respond to different colour and different polarisation. By using these properties we can use more of the disc." By using three different wavelengths and two polarisations, three layers of information can be recorded to disc. Researchers believe that it is possible to record 100 layers onto a single disc.
